The Beer Taster

Beer and I go back a long way. From my first tentative sips in my teens, through the regular binges of my early adulthood, and on to the present day, when I am still known to sit down to a good session (but with a more discerning palette), beer has been a big part of my life.

I do, of course, have many and varied interests – but all of them can be added to and improved by the application of beer.

I love to travel, and when I arrive in a country for the first time, one of the highest items on my agenda is to sample a local brew.

My favourite sport is boxing, and there’s no better accompaniment to a good fight than a good beer,

I love music, and as I’m sure anybody else who loves music and beer will agree, your favourite tracks sound so much better when you’re drunk.

Most of my best friends and closest family members have a healthy appetite for beer, and most of my best nights and fondest memories have been in the company of these people as we have enjoyed this shared interest. Those who say “you don’t have to drink to enjoy yourself” obviously don’t know what they’re missing.

Since you have found my site, you must be like-minded. So here are my thoughts on beer – the best and the worst, the obscure and the ubiquitous, and everything in between.
